I am having a 7mm RM rifle built. It will use a 26" Broughton 1-9 5c barrel 5 1/2 taper, Norma brass, I've got Berger 168gr. vld's so far. Any advice on your preference of primers. I usually buy 1 type and stick with it. I've never messed with different brands of primers. Powder preference?

Re: 7mm RM load info.

On my Sendero (i think it was a 9 1/2 twist) I used the berger 168 with R-22 at 59.5 grains, cci magnum primers, loaded to magazine length....it shot .331 inch at 100 yards....never shot it any further than 100 on paper, used it to kill a buck.

Re: 7mm RM load info.

I've been working up a 1000yd load(s) for my 26" Sendero these past six weeks and I'm using Federal 215s. I have some 215Ms, but I save those for the 338LM, as they're as rare as hen's teeth now. I might fiddle with CCI 250s and even some Win LRP M, but it's mostly been 215s these past 400 rds.

Re: 7mm RM load info.

I have a .338 Edge that should be finished shortly and the smith(DE) has had great results with the CCI 250's and H-1000. I've heard H1000 and R-22,25 work well in the 7mm RM (LSR). I guess it just comes down to the recipe for the individual rifle. I'm just trying to consolidate some components. Too bad I can't consolidate my rifles. Thanks for the info, Soren

Re: 7mm RM load info.

I picked up some H1000 and Re22 today. They ran out of Fed 215M's. I guess they are hard to find. So I bought 2000 CCI 250's. I've got 5 boxes of Bergers on the way and some Redding Dies too. Now the real wait begins. Thanks for the info guys, Soren

Re: 7mm RM load info.

I tried the 168 and retumbo in norma cases with fed 215 and am extremely pleased. I have the bullet touching lands.
