Reloading some 7mm RUM brass for my son in law's Remington 700 Sendero. He has shot it maybe 250 times. The jump from the ogive to the lands from off the shelf ammunition is close to 0.200". Holy moly, could he have shot out his chamber? The off the shelf stuff is not particularly hot. Waiting for a 5/16" x 36 tap to arrive from Amazon to use one of his fire formed brass with the Hornady over all length gauge. We loaded a cartridge with no primer and powder with minimal neck tension and he pushed it onto the lands. I doubt it would even fit into his magazine it is so long, COL. Its is difficult as we are observing quarantine issues around our neighborhood so I have not looked at his gun in awhile.

Remington 700’s Barrels are fairly well known for letting the bullet get a running start to the lands.
Sure the throat has moved but most of that jump was there since new.
Embrace the jump!
