I could not be happier with the build quality and super fast turn around time on this rifle. Area419.com built a flawless rifle that shoots. The builder is very easy to work with and has excellent communication. He even fixed the ejection port on the A5 to match the tac300 (that was inletted for a remmy). I never thought I'd own such a nice rifle. Can't wait to start another.

3.100 oal.
180 berger hybrid
Remmy neck turned brass

Only has 34 rounds fired through it so far. Avg velocity in that group was 2932 fps. Retumbo was faster but not quite as accurate.

Tnx.. heres mine just finished a build too 7mm saum in short action. Ill be shooting her soons i got off work. Those loads are 61gr h100 62 and 63.also rl25 61gr and 61 4831sc just giving a brake in on barrel and forming those 300 norma saum... hope ill have same luck as you

I'm the pickiest person I know, and I am impressed. From the fast turn around time, well executed build and how well she shoots, it could not be any better. May not be a big name shop, but definetly a first class smith who really takes care of his customers.

Looks like we are starting to see a pattern with loads. I am shooting Berger 180 VLD 65.5 H-1000 0.180" FB.

H-1000 seems to be the powder for 180's and about 65.0

H4831sc for the 168 / 162 bullets.

I love mine and those 180's at 2950 - 3000 just are impressive all the way around, external and terminal.

Your barrel is going to speed up too.

Im guessing its short action.. whats you oal and hows the presure on 65.5.how long barrel?

Not without a 36" barrel, your powder charges above even seem pretty hot to me at short action mag length. I don't have any short action experience so I could be wrong.

You should be able to get 3k no problem if you are already at 2994 with 63g. These bullets are so good they really don't need to be going as fast as you can get them. I just settle on a load that shoots the best. 6.5mils or so to 1k is no slouch. I never fully trust chronographs either but they are nice for load development to get you close. I'm shooting through a prochrono at 10'. I shoot at 1134' asl.

Accuracy load with Retumbo was in the .2s with 64.5g at 2956fps so looks like my accuracy node is between 2930-2960 on the new barrel. I'm told it will get faster. Has 34 rounds fired now.
