I’m about to load up some 80gn eldm for the first time in my Tikka .
I’m after advice as to how far off the lands I should start with .
I have a Waters magazine which allows long seating, so my OAL isn’t an issue.
I’ll be using H4895 powder .
Do the 80gn eldm’s like to jump or be close ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

The problem with the 80gr is that you have to seat them so deep that you usually run into pressure problems before you get the velocity you want. I get better performance with the 75 ELDM than the 80's. If you can ream out the leade another 0.030 to 0.050", the 80gr works a lot better.

The 80 seems to be a lot easier to tune than the 75 with seating depth not so critical
i would start .02 off the lands, this worked really well in my custom 223 and factory Tikka 22/250
