Nosler shows data in 22-250 for both RL19 and RL22 with their 80gr bullets. Has anyone here done this? I was wondering how well it works, just because it is in the book doesn't mean it is worth doing.

I recently pulled the barrel from a thoroughly shot out factory 22-250 and I still have a bunch of 22-250 components and enough RL22 to shoot for a while but have yet to get a fast twist barrel. It's not what I normally shoot anymore, but if it works all I need is a barrel.

Thanks for your input.

Hi, I was looking for 22 BR stuff and ran across this today.
Just thought I'd offer ....I am using both those powders in a .220 Swift Ackley
I know not the same as a 22-250 but....
With a 30" 8 twist barrel ....
I tried RL-19 with 80 JLK's and 85.5 Berger shot ok (approx 1 moa)
Same bullets but using 45.0 of RL-22 was the ticket (approx 0.2 MOA out to 600 yds)
Also don't be afraid to try IMR 4831
This powder shot 65 gr JLK's into bugholes
I'd say you're in the ballpark of powder burn rate for projectile weight
,,,,you just need a starting load to work up.
With the smaller 22-250 case though I'd be willing to bet RL-17 and IMR-4350 may be good as well.
Have fun!
