So I was on the range recently and saw another shooter with a Strider MT-10 knife.

It had the Chuck Mawhinney signature on the side of it, but did not have the "Sniper" marking underneath the "Strider" name. Instead, it had "8541" underneath the "Strider" marking, and then "USMC" below that.

Does anyone know anything about this, and if there is any significance to the knife? Is it just a custom marking that someone had personalized? Or was it one of the knives that the schoolhouse hands out to the honor graduate for each course, if Strider does mark those knives differently?

Thanks in advance for any information.

Strider did a run of these. Bluelinegear.com had a bunch. I don't remember the exact markings but sounds like the same model.

Yes the 8541 markings are the ones that all of the honor grads received upon graduation at the West Coast school house.

Those were definitely only given out to guys that graduated honor grad. As far as I know Duane and Mick only gave the 8541 models to the West Coast school house so there probably are not to many of those floating around.
