I’ve got a nice old Wingmaster that’s going to be made into a 12.5” SBS. Tax stamp already approved. I would like to keep the wood stock set since it’s got plenty of dents and character, but the color is a tiny bit too blonde and of course it’s got that gloss finish.

Looking for some relatively painless DIY suggestions to remove the high gloss finish and darken the grain a bit? I don’t need weather proof for this particular gun. Would love to end up with some sort of dull matte finish.
