where is the best supply of 8mm Mauser ammo for these old rifles? specifically looking for German 154gr 2890fps or equivalent----or a source of components for reloading??
any info appreciated

I think that the 154g loading is pretty much obsolete and not seen that often, anymore. Even by WW2, the Germans were mostly using ammo in the 198g range. Check the usual reloading suppliers for .323 diameter bullets (assuming you're using a rifle made after 1905) and you can see what your options are. In my experience, most of the available surplus Mausers shoot best with the heavier bullets.
