90s Remington stock ID

Can anyone tell me who made this stock? It is on a Remington 700 done up by AWC I assume in the 90s. Thanks.

IIRC, the early Remington varmint stocks were HS Precision, but had no name on them (contracted to Remington). Buttpads were glued on, foam cored, with a bedding block that supported just the action. The one I had, only had one sling swivel (an early VS model), and didn't have the hollowed out fore end that yours shows.

Shrug, I don't think anyone can say for sure what you have there, and I'm just guessing. I'd compare mine, but I pulled it off that action, dropped the action in a JAE chassis and gave it (the stock) to a neighbor needing one for a rifle he was putting together.

As a time reference, my rifle was a 700VS, purchased in '94 (yea for per diem, easy gun money when on active duty).

First he guy in that other thread doesn't know what he's talking about, that's an HS Precision stock, probably from a 700P. I say 700p instead of a VS stock because even though the VS also had a HS stock it was distinctly different from the stock shown. VS stocks had only two sling swivel studs, a narrow forend, a different stock color, and a pistol grip with no palm swell. The texturing was probably done by a previous owner using marine tex or devcon. That be a 700p stock.

I have owned a few PSS rifles, one of the early 90's (I think 1991) and one of the later 90's as well. I would agree it is off a PSS and texture applied in the aftermarket. However of all the HS stocks I have seen on factory 700 both the VS & PSS rifles none had the hollowed out fore arm. Also the aluminum bedding block doesn't look like an HS either, something looks off to me. That has be curious if it really an HS stock. But it has been 15 or so years since my last one, so maybe I am wrong...

I have owned a couple of the early 90's VS rifles with HS stocks since the early 90's. They both have the hollow forend, and the bedding blocks look exactly like that. I do not have experience with PSS rifles older than the early 2000's, but the ones I've seen did not have the hollow forend. This probably changed when the HS stocks were upgraded to a full-length bedding block. The early ones only ran from the pistol grip to the recoil lug. Later ones ran from the pistol grip through the front sling stud.
