    Yes I googled,

Are there any positive reviews of this rifle short of the gun rags? IE real world use for accuracy? Thinking about buying one to celebrate my year in the box, Would hate to get another dud like my AT 300WM was. Adjustable trigger any good? Muzzle break worth a damn? Threads for muzle break standard? Bolt handle is threaded with a plasti ball, anyone know the thread pitch/size for possibility of a badger knob?

Seems the TRG came up alot in the threads I did read for this, I dont give a damn about the TRG or the AI, I have access to the PGW timberwolf AI 338, and the TRG.

    Re: 98 Bravo?

Very little I've heard on it (outside of Guns&Ammo) made me want to pay what they're asking for it.

I handled one in a shop last weekend and wasn't overly impressed. For that kind of price tag it would be worth getting something custom built to me.

I don't think too many people have this, or have shot it yet. I wouldn't spend that much on something unless I either knew someone that had one, or had some time behind on myself. You should look into the Surgeons I think those would do you well. Stay Safe, and Good Luck.

Tucson, I have had my hands on the T-wolf, and put a few rounds down range with one. Finest rifle I have ever fired, but even though I can afford to pay that much for it, I cannot bring myself to do it. BTW I go home soon and will be able to shoot you over that 338 load info I did for the T-wolf

It dosn't look like it's really making waves in the .338lm world. But every new introduction in this cal brings us closer to more commonly available and cheaper brass and bullets.

In the meantime I just swaped my AI out to .300wm.

Decided to try one since it is a lot lighter than a surgion, Barrel breakin is finished groups hanging in the sevens with 250 grain matchkings. Put the big scope on it, going to get serious with the benchwork now. The break is very effective, a little sharper push than heavier 338,s but very mild. Waiting for a calm day. more to come.

    Re: 98 Bravo?

I am new to the board. I have a 98 bravo and shot it a couple of weeks ago. I found the rifle to be light and easy to handle. It breaks apart quite easily for cleaning and other maintenance. The trigger was suitable but needs some work for a little catch in the first stage. Recoil was quite light, about what can be expected from a .308. Accuracy was better than I expected. My first load was 250 grain Siera Match Kings 105 grains of Hodgkins US 869 Federal Mag Large rifle primers. The very first test group to zero the scope at 100 meters was about 1/2 inch probably less. The next 200 meter group was five shots well under 1 inch center to center.

This rifle is as advertised, and will be a fine long range gun.

    Agreed

    Re: 98 Bravo?

A real good friend of mine has one down in WA, he also has a TRG42. Setting side by side shooting the same loads the TRG 42 beats the 98B hands down. He stated that the feeding is better on the 42 and the ergonomics on the 98 are not as friendly. He played with the different loads for over a month trying to get them to tighten up for the 98 and was having a real hard time getting it to hit MOA + 300 yards out. He summed it up, by saying it was a Barret, and not to expect too much.

Look forward to it. We've been using 300's but we're gonna try some 250's in it also.

    Re: 98 Bravo?

Finished up some benchwork with 300 SMK's. Groups in the fours. The rifle does not settle in on the bench like a conventional rifle. But bare in mind that it was not designed to shoot off the bench. Prone on the ground it feels quite good on the 800 yard gong. And it is light! It was built to be a light durable platform that can be humped throught the hills all day and still take care of business. It is not an AI or a Twolf but I am starting to take a liking to it.
