Let me start by saying that the search engine does not help finding old threads.

I'm looking to purchase a 9mm AR and wanted to see first hand what would couple nicely with an AAC Evolution? I've heard good and bad about the Colt but there are many different models out there. If I had to weigh my options and spend more money on the upper I'd rather do that as I own many AR rifles. I understand that the buffer and a few other changes need to made but not completely sure so I'll wait to see what kind of info I find here. Thanks!

Re: 9mm AR

There are several options available to you. Colt, nothing wrong with that. Rock River Arms, Olympic Arms, CMMG all make dedicated 9mm ARs. You can put one together with the upper and magwel adapter for less money if you build right.

Know up front that all ammunition, including some of the 147gr rounds, will be supersonic in the 16" barrel. I have to run Fiocchi 158gr in my full barrel AR to prevent the supersonic crack. SBR + suppressor is really where the 9mm AR shines. Hit me up with an IM if you have any questions. I've got a couple 9mm ARs.

Re: 9mm AR

I don't own one but I have shot a friends RRA 9mm AR on several occasions and it's really a fun rifle to shoot. Highly recommended for a factory built one.
