9mm upper question

Hello everyone, I'm new to SH forums, and I have a build question

I'm struggling to find parts for a 9mm upper for a new AR-15 build. The lower is a double diamond LE dedicated 9, 9mm hammer, 9mm buffer that apparently takes colt mags. I have read that the upper functions on direct blowback instead of gas impingement, and a gas tube isn't even needed? That would sure make for a cleaner action after shooting.

I imagine a great set up would be a 9mm upper with no gas tube, 9mm bolt carrier complete, 16" 9mm barrel and a carbine length quad rail had guard.

Still, I'm having a hard time finding 9mm dedicated uppers, 9mm bolt carriers, and 9mm barrels, can anyone help?

Yup

I have a 9mm RRA and it runs flawlessly.
C-Products makes a dedicated 9mm stick mag that runs flawlessly and works better than the Colts.

Re: 9mm upper question

CMMG makes an upper with what I think is the better bolt since you can use a normal AR trigger/hammer with it. I have a Rock River and it runs great it just got to a point where I couldn't go any faster with their heavy trigger. I put a JP trigger in it since I have to keep the Rock River hammer. But all in all I think it may be my favorite AR, I use it in our steel matches, and the short range 3-gun matches.

Re: 9mm upper question

I have one of the cmmg 7.3 complete pistol that I did a form 1 to make it a SBR. The cmmg lower uses the normal ar-15 trigger parts so i would call them to see if your lower would work with their upper. Mine runs great and is quite accurate. I have worked out a lead 147gr load that is sub sonic and now i just need to send a form 1 off for a suppressor for it.
