I have a couple questions and I figure that this is the best site to get the answers.
First: A long time ago I seen a rifle built on a surgeon action. The barrel had minimal taper and was fluted to match the bolt. I thought this was very sharp looking and always wanted to have one built like that. So is there a barrel manufacturer that will flute to match? And if not does anybody know the spacing, depth, size, and twist rate of a Surgeon bolt flute?
Second: I would like to carry this rifle in the field alot so I would like a barrel contour that would look good with that style fluting without making the gun too heavy. Anybody have a recomendation? I think that a number 3 with it's taper might look silly but Iam not sure that I want the weight of a straight taper barrel?
Thanks
Jason
