Actually no. Its modeled after a 13th Century arming sword. LOTR just copied the broadleaf design. Actually ALL the LOTR swords are reality based designs. This one has a 25" blade as opposed to the 14" (i think) STING.

Its fully functional. Tempered 5160 with an appleseed edge. I ended up with two of these and only need the one.

Sorry, but that's not the case.
Hilt components are more 15th century, but the blade is pure fastasy with some gladius hispaniensis and bronze age blades thrown in as influences...but still, nicely pulled off by Sonny and the crew!
