A little help please, is this a 70 target stock?

I bought this stock a loooong time ago from Numrich. I was going to use it for a HP build but from the pics in the Vietnam 70s thread, this is missing the rail. It actually has what looks to be a repair piece where the rail would have been. I imagine coming up with the stock rail now would be extremely rough. Anyhow, take a look. I don't have an action to verify. This is supposed to be pre '64 post war.

The grip looks suspicious.
Every target stock I've seen has a checkered steel butt plate.

Yes, butt plate and grip cap are not original, if stock has not been cut the original butt plates are out there, and you can remove grip cap and fill the hole. very best
