I wanted to share something I bought from the great guys at 1811 Tactical. There are a lot of great data books out there but their bulk and lack of blank pages for random notes had made them (IMO) too bulky for anything but range day data gathering.
The nice thing about this note book cover is two fold. First, it's very thin with allows it to be carried much easier in a backpack or at a comp. The second is it takes a steno or top bound notebook, which again, is something I like for convenience and ease of use. It's got pockets for all your gear without forcing you to pack it full of stuff you really don't need. Instead of a plain steno pad there are a few water-resistant options that makes this even more practical for the rain. Plus, as you can see in one of the pics below you can completely fold the cover backwards 360* to only have the pad exposed.
Now unfortunately (for those interested) the ATACs material was mine (as was the notebook) but I know he makes these in most of the popular colors.
I paid full price so it's an honest evaluation. If you want a notebook but don't need a big data book, this is for you.
