Hunting & Fishing A5/T4 or go lighter?

I have a SPS-V 308 26". Eventually a 6.5x47 barrel will go on this rifle, but for now my first hunting season will be with a 308. I'd like to replace the stock before I go though. The added weight sorta scares me. Is a T4A/T4 too heavy for hunting? Should I just go with a T3 A1-3 style stock? I know less about hunting and even less about making good decisions =P

Hunting will either be in Arizona or California (aka mountainy)

Regardless of my stock decision, I feel like the rifles accuracy would increase considerably, not to mention I might be able to get a decent cheek weld.

Suggestions?
