I Have the AAC Scar-H-SD. The older, timed 5 positon supperssor. I'm attaching it to my heavy contour barrrel, which measures .995, or just under 1 inch. The inside diameter of the flash hider is .670 and the threads of the flash hider a roughly 2 inchs down in the flash hider. So the hider is actually sleeving over the barrel, which I have to machine to the .670, or just under.
Two questions:
1. The end, which is closes to the barrel, of the flash hider is just under the size of my barrel, .950. Do/Can I mate this end to the barrel, or do I still mate it to the end of the barrel, on the Crown?
2. If I don't mate it to the thick part of the barrel, how much gap is needed between the flash hider, and barrel?
Thanks
