I took journalism in HS, and sure everything in HS is pretty fucking idealistic, but it was drilled into our heads that we absolutely had to get our facts straight from two or three different sides. You didn't even have to write well, just get your shit straight.
Go figure the real world is basically a thousand idiots just throwing whatever they have in their hand when the editor comes by at the end of the day. Sadly, it's radicalizing this country because the focus is on sensationalism at all costs instead of fair and balanced accuracy. The American media is cancer now.

I quit watching broadcast TV about 15 years ago because of news inaccuracies and agenda and even TV shows with an agenda to promote certain views.
I’m not a hard right type by any stretch or a conspiracy type.
I just don’t like the crap thrown at me from broadcast TV.
editors of newspapers at one time would rip a reporter that didnt fact check a new asshole.
It was a point of pride to be right and first with the news.
Now its a race to see who can commit the biggest outrage.
That’s because they long ago ceased to try to be news and have transitioned completely to money-making propaganda machines. Pushing the agenda at all times with no regard for facts.

I'm right there with you . I was disgusted with cable TV 14 years ago . Not just the programming , but the ever increasing price of the garbage . Still happy to this day and even more so when I hear my coworkers discussing the shit on todays programming .
