I have a ACOG TA31F with the chevron reticle. Got it new around 10 years ago, so the tritium illum is pretty well depleted. Although the fiber optic illum works just fine as everything else. Been thinking about selling it. How much does the loss of tritium affect the value of it?

It will affect it a lot. Someone on another forum posted that it costs over $500 but Trijicon replaced all internals (from his post: ...the prisms, fiber optic rail, glass, tritium, etc.).

I'd still call and see what they can do.

did u call Trig to see what it would cost to fix?

Too much to make any difference in the resale value of the optic. How many people get a chance to shoot in the dark?

Just because your reticle is illuminated, does not mean your target is...............

The tritium is one of the selling points of the ACOG. Without it, its just another 3X-4X optic.

The retticle ilumination allows you to differntiate from the target and the sights. Same as any night sites.
