What are the dimensions on the action screws for the Badger M5 for a Remington 700 s/a? Thread size and length.

Re: Action Screws

Depends on the stock used.

Easiest way I've found to do this:

Start with the front guard screw. Run it all the way till it snugs up. Attempt to insert the bolt. Chances are it won't go into battery.

Note the start position of your wrench/screw driver and begin backing off the screw till the bolt drops. Then go an extra 1/2 turn.

A 28TPI thread has a pitch of .0357". If you back it off 5-1/2 turns you need to remove .196" from the screw. (5.5*.0357)

The rear is essentially done the same way only now you fit till it's flush with the hole.

Hope this helps.

Re: Action Screws

1/4-28 x 1" SHCS on the front.
1/4-28 x 1 3/8" SHCS on the rear.

Screws may need to be trimmed to length depending on the installation.
If you use the badger pillars and the inletting is all relatively correct, minimal to no trimming will be required.
Badger ships their M5 with a 1" and 1.5" and the 1.5" always requires shortening.
