I just instaled a new Timney flat shoe in my Reminton 700. No problem getting it in. It came pre set at 2.5, checked it with pull guage. The problem is after adjusting the front screw to get it down to the 2 pound pull I Want, it has a lot of creep in it.
Can I get the creep out without sending this to a smith?

Re: Adjusting Timney trigger.

Google Rem 700 trigger adjustment. You can't just adjust the pull weight screw and expect a great pull. Sear engagement is the single most important part of a good trigger. If you are uncomfortable messing with sear engagement send it to a smith, if you think you can handle it then be careful and make sure you test for slam fires and bang the butt on the ground to make sure it won't go off if dropped. You will probably have to adjust overtravel as well. Good luck.
