So, a while back (this summer) I bought an ERA-TAC 34mm mount for EuroOptic. It's a 20 MOA mount. I'm now not so sure about this thing - haven't mounted it yet. I think the longest my new build can go is about 1250 yards and my scope is a Minox 5-25x56 which has MORE than enough turns on it for that.

Tell me, did I royally screw up here? I'd love to be able to see if they'd take it back and trade me for a 0 MOA, but it's been more than 15 days (obviously).

Thanks!!

If your scope is the one I am thinking it is, you have 28 Mils of elevation adjustment (If set in the center of the adjustment, it will be 14 Mils). So even if your rifle has a 20 MOA (5.818 Mils) rail and you add another 20 MOA for 40 total (11.636 Mils), you will still have more then enough elevation adjustment to allow for it (14 Mils - 11.636 = 2.634 of elevation left before you bottom out).

It's a flat rail (no cant) that it's going on - EBR platform. I got concerned playing with Strelock and if I was even putting in the correct information. I've been sighting in some Bushnell LRTSi as of late. Sadly at 25 yards then hoping to go to CMP and use the electronic scoring. Probably take a day of from work and make a day at Talladega. Since I'm one of The Poors i don't have a spotting scope using that electronic scoring makes more sense for me.

If you have 0moa in the rail and 20moa in the mount you will be fine.
20moa is a safe bet for virtually any set up.

One day, I'll be good at mounting scopes, leveling them, etc, etc. I've been using my Wheeler Laser in the back yard, and while it seems to do pretty well at elevation, not so great on azimuth when I get to the range. So, when I get all these sighted in at the CMP range, I'll come back and see exactly where the heck Wheeler thinks it's pointing. I want to believe but....all it takes is the crown/flash-hider/break to not be perfect and that wheeler will miss its mark. But, at least I'm not sticking stuff in the barrel (I know..do it right and nothing will happen).

Thanks!!

What you can do, is set the zero for 100 yards in Strelock and then set the target for 25 yards and see ware it falls on the rectal in Strelock. Then mark the target ware you should be hitting from the center and see if it is correct.

Yep, that's what I was doing, though I was looking at the 0 offset though on the ammo/rifle page...playing with that. Couldn't believe my numbers so I freaked out :).

I have to admit, the scope is potentially massive overkill; but, when I took advantage of the crazy sale the 15x seemed well...small :)
