Hey guys, I've decided to send my rifle off to gap for some mods. It's a 700P that's all stock except for the trigger. My plan is to have them true the action, rechamber, recrown, refinish, bed, and install a Badger M5. I like the HS stock so I'm going to leave that on the rifle.

I was thinking about cutting the barrel down from 26 to 24in but I'm not sure about that???? I also don't want to rebarrel since the gun only has 100 rounds through it and I want to keep the cost down. Is there anything else you guys would recommend?

Re: Advice on GAP mods

if you dont want to rebarrel then there is no point in truing the action yet. Most factory tube threads wont fit right if the action is trued and then the factory tube is screwed back on. I personally dont like the long wait, id send it to Jeff @ CDI have him inlet the stock, install his bottom metal, and cut and recrown the barrel for you. Just my 2 cents
