New guy here looking for a little advice. Just purchased a Mark 4 1.5x5, until I figure out which rifle to keep it on and replenish the scope fund, it will be going between the AR-15 and AR-10 platforms. I know a lot of guys run a QD like a Larue, which I like the idea of a QD. The .308 is already on the heavy side and with the Aero mount weighing in at just 2.98 oz not to mention the cost savings ($85) I'm thinking it may not be a big deal to carry a wrench.
Does anyone have any experience with the Aero mount's or would the Larue give me anything extra other than the QD. I searched the forum but couldn't find any input on these mounts. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I think you have it figured out already... Weight is an issue and QD is something you can live without. ;) Oh, and you don't mind saving a few bucks....$85 you say.
I too like the idea of a QD mount, but how often do you plan on taking it on and off in the field? If you're at a match, how hard is it to store a 1/2 wrench in your gear bag?
LaRue is good stuff...honestly, I haven't tried any Aero products, so I can't speak to their product line quality.

That's kind of what I was thinking. From my research they seem like a good company, just wanted to get someone's opinion who has used their mounts and make sure I wasn't missing something. I'm going to order mine today! Thanks for the input.
