Does anyone have experience with AG Composites stocks? I've seen a lot of mention of them but as a side note and not as a conversation. I realize that they do a lot of oem, but I was looking at their chalk branch and Alpine Hunter. Also does anyone know the advantage of the chalk branch forend? Because I can't think of any

I ordered an adjustable chalk branch a few days ago. (It’s mentioned but not shown on their site, but they have a short vid on their Instagram. I ordered over the phone.)

The big advantage of the chalk branch forend is you get a portion of stock that’s parallel to the barrel and can mount a rail on it. This means that things like the new MKM magnetospeed mount will work. Also, with it being closer to the bore line, a bipod apex will be higher, giving you better stability.

Separately, I need to figure out how to set up a mounting system for a rail changer bag, but that can wait until I have the stock in hand and I know where it balances.

Are there any disadvantages that you foresee with the forend? Idk I understand what you're saying with it being more stable for a bipod and useful for a magneto speed, but just feel weird about it still.

It’s not all in a line so you can’t do a full-length ARCA rail. You also can’t put a direct-mount QD cup on the side of the small bit of forend. Personally I think it looks pretty neat so I don’t see the “interesting” profile as a bad thing.

I don't either, I think it looks awesome and it looks like it would do really well with a front rest upfront (tree branch, bag, etc) just wasn't sure if there was some downsides I didn't know about. I think if you plan on running an arca rail then you should be using a chassis or more tactical stock anyway.
