AI AX mag question.

I bought a couple ai ax mags that i thought we’re just aics mags. Long story. If i were to dremel the front lip off of them would they work as a regular aics mag?

No. AICS mags are single stack.

Wow, lot of confusing responses here for the op.
I believe he has the mag on the right. He wants to modify it,by removing the lip to mimic the mag on the left.
I can’t say with 100% certainty that the lip is the only difference between the two, but if you have both versions and a set of digital calipers, I would do a series of comparisons before grinding it off, if no one with actual experience in doing it can help you out.

I would flatten them out with a pair of pliers first. I think they would work like that

DO NOT FLATTEN THEM OUT. Doing so will blow the sides of the magwell out at the corners.

You can cut them out and they will work in any standard AICS pattern bottom metal or chassis. Depending on your setup though, rounds may push forward in the mag and catch on the action.

You’d be much better off returning/exchanging them if you can, or selling them and purchasing the correct mags. You’ll lose a few bucks most likely but it’s better than butchering a mag and having to toss it in the trash and buying the right ones anyway.
