308 barrel (2).jpg Pulled this 308 win barrel from an AI. No caliber/make/model/proofs/stamp etc.
Any help at an ID will be appreciated

the groove cut into the breech face looks like my old factory 308 barrel (think it is a cooper or something when they were makin them for AI way back in the day, but not 100% sure) ...idk if all the AI factory barrels look like that, never paid much attention to the 308s

Is there a number stamped on the barrel around 4-6" from the breech?
My original barrel shows a 4 digit number, same groove in the breech.
I agree that i think they are from cooper precision. Bought my AI when they were in oakridge

How far back in the day?

The only marking is a tiny #1(I think) in the photo.

This thing doesn't even have the caliber.

It sounds like 2 votes for Cooper, did they shoot well?

My AW is from 1998, the barrel is marked .308 near the breech, the 4 digit number (0020) is stamped halfway down the barrel. The barrel shoots 175gr SMK &185gr Lapua lockbase very well. Tried 168gr SMK but no go for accuracy. Also tried factory Lapua 170gr lockbase, no go for accuracy. The only thing i don't like about the factory barrrel is the large chamber. I Rebarreled it a long time ago with a match chamber.

no idea...it was a used barrel from a guy that had been threaded 5/8-24 already so i swapped him my AT barrel that was unthreaded...he told me it was a cooper from whenever they were doin AI barrels for a short while

mine shoots lights out...with factory 168s/175s and my handloads...has multiple wins against 6/6.5 barrels in the texas club matches over the last couple years
