How many have used this combo with success. I know their is always a chance of issues but I’m on the fense of buying used/unfired post ‘14 AIAX and it’ll probably be a 308 and 6.5cm only set up but I’d like to stick with Lapua creedmoor brass. Just wanna hear from the masses on their experiences.

It’s no longer an issue to bush the pins on AI’s as it once was, so you have that option regardless.

I don’t have an issue with mine piercing, but some do. Kind of a crapshoot. You could use large primer peterson brass, which will last you just as long as Lapua, and completely avoid the piercing issue.

I had issues with my 14 AX LFP piercing 6x47L in high temp ranges. Anything below 80F is okay though. That’s with H4350 on the hotter side.

You can pick up a bolt group from Mile High or Euro Optic if you experience issues like I did. It’ll cost you though.

Yea already reviewed that option and at $600+He’d have to come way diwn that much for me to buy I think.

I’m on the fense between that rifle and a new AT folder.

Yea a lot of the older discussion say don’t bush and have talked to guys that did it originally and they say no. But I don’t see why LRI or other reputable Smith’s would accept work if it had potential problems.

I don’t remember people saying no(not disputing), it was simply a material issue due to material hardness. Done right, I can’t see what the issue would be. Working with LRI is very pleasant, and I’m sure Chad would answer your questions fully. They don’t do half assed stuff, period.
