Gunsmithing AI mags with lip on the front of the mag?

I've got 3 mags with a lip on the front and they won't work in my Manners mini chassis. Can this lip be cut off and not hurt the function of the magazine?

I had one like that. I just tapped it in with a hammer. Works fine
