Has anyone tried to put an AI barreled action into a different chassis system? If so- how’d that go? I love the rifles but loath the clunky pistol grips on their chassis system, ergonomically they are not a fit.

MPA is the only option out there. The obsession chassis retains the pistol grip.

Heard of several attempting to inlet a stock, but haven’t seen any successful conversions.

If anyone that says they want an AI in a stock with a mini chassis ever steps up to the plate with money in their hand, I have everything one would need to give it a college try. But it’s not on my current list of “Blow thousands of dollars for funsies” haha.

The AI-MPA chassis is your only option right now, otherwise wait and see what AI is up to over the next year or two since the new AXSR has an AR grip.

Samb300, I appreciate your candor and for taking the time to respond. My situation is, I have already spent $20K+ on rifles that were good but not what I'm looking for due to a hand injury. The expense doesn't daunt me, I have the engineering & fiscal resources to make it happen, I just like to see what others have done before giving it a try (did the same thing when I built an AR500 armored robot target out of a motorized wheelchair w/1500yrd range, check it out in the DIY forum). I'll see what the summer holds and get back to you if I can get it done. It might work, it might fail, but IF it fails... it'll be EPIC failure and that in itself will indicate when I fucked up, it was at full speed; and with big-ass grin on my face :).
