Gunsmithing AICS 223 magazine aethetics/mods

I want to switch from top stuffing to a DBM system on my 223 AI.
My issue is that the AI 223 mags are so long that they will look like garbage on my rifle, I also don't need 10 rounds.
Has anyone cut them down and shortened the spring or am I better off modding a 308 mag?

Same problem here.
I hope somebody has another option.

Someone on here was mod'ing Pmags for 223 and 308 for non-compliant states to make 5rd and 10rd version from the 20/30 rd magazines.

I don't remember who it was, MidwestPX maybe? That name seems to ring a bell.

I'd try the guy who was offering the modification service on the Pmags as the first try.

Yes I cut one down, reduced it to three/four rounds for the above reasons.

I wanted to get rid of the large magazine "look" for when i was out hunting with my gun.
