This is the TAC338 Action from the Group Buy many moons ago. I finally got it done and back from American Precision Arms. Thanks to Tom At Broughton Barrel, Bill Pruden who gave me a voucher from the ASC we did,for the Seekins Rings and Glen for taking the Voucher which was almost 3 yrs old.
So the specs are an AICS, TAC338 Action, Broughton Barrel cut to 27 inches in a 1:9.3 twist 5c MTU fluted Countour. The Fat Bastard Break installed on it. The Scope is a S&B PMII first focal. I need to get a 30moa mount to use the full amount of elevation. Right now with the 20moa that came with the Action I am losing about 7 mils of elevation in the turret from 100yds. There is enough to get me to 1000yds but to get the 1200-1400yds I need the higher rail.
The pictures were taken with my Android Captivate and uploaded to the photobucket mobile site. So I hope they are clear and of decent quality.
I have only shot the rifle out to 300 yds with 300 SMK's set at mag length. With a F-class Sinclare bipod and rear bag the accuracy was .25-.50moa onto the Hathcock target at Cumberland Range. At Cherry Ridge off the Harris Bipod with the Monopod being held in my grip I was able to hold .75 to 1 moa. That was on a regular circle target. I had pictures but screwed up and deleted from the phone.
There were witnesses to the groups and one of the people shot the rifle. At this time I only have 60 rounds through it but hope to be shooting more come spring. G-d willing.
I will take some better pictures of the rifle showing the barrel and the excellent work that APA has done putting it together.
Edited to add JARED Thank You for answering all my questions and talking to me on the phone. Allowing me to get the money together to get this done.
Also same goes for Tom at Broughton for getting me the barrel the way I wanted and steering me in the right direction.
