AICS Questions

I recently upgraded my Rem 5R to an AICS and Viperskins.

Two questions:

1. Anyone know of a flat/flush screw for those without the side rails (Viperskin issue).

2. The other AICS that I have seen pics of did not have this metal piece on the end that the bipod spigot connects to.
The other pics show the spigot connecting minus this piece.

Is this normal, a new model or what if anything should I make of it?
It works fine but curious about it.

the mount on the front is standard now. its to mount a nightvision mount to it. i guess some guys are able to remove it, but now sure how.

The flat head screws are thread protectors and also give your fingers a place to index when you are slung up.

If you don't like them, they are removable.

Thanks for the info guys.

No big deal about the screws ~ I was just wondering if there were any that filled the holes but didn't stick out where the rail went.
I like the shins!
