I have an AICS that has a Badger M2013 action in it. Can I repurpose it for a standard REM700 Short Action? Or has the milling/fitting the prior gunsmith did to get the Badger in it preclude it from going back to that configuration?

The 2013 is flat bottomed. The v-block arrangement that was there to fit the round remington has been milled away. So no, you'll have to stick to the 2013. On the good side, there's probably a good market here in the for sale section for that stock.

I was thinking about this today they have to remove material to make it a flat bottom stock . It would be easy to make some pillars that would plug into the aluminium chassis and support the action at the right height. Bedding epoxy would hold the pillars in place along with the bolts.
As Super suggested it might be better to sell and replace the stock.
