AICS stock

Re: AICS stock

I had a AICS 2.0 and it was OD green. Adam at Bauer Arms on the site is GTG and will give you a deal on them. They are high in the comb, and heavy. I did not care for mine and sold it. The one advantage of it to me was that with the block, you could just drop in an action and try it out. It is not a field rifle IMO

Re: AICS stock

Thanks..i called him a bit ago and spoke to a woman, said they were 2wks out on green, but she said only colors were FDF,BLK,GREEN..is the green OD Green? iasked her and she didnt know..

Re: AICS stock

If you are patient, you can find them in the sale forum here. I paid way less for my 2.0 than I would from any of the dealers.

Here is a pic of mine, the color is pretty accurate.

Not all OD Greens are created equal. There will be differences between different manufacturers (whether paint, polymer, etc.). If you want everything to match up perfectly (to each their own)...you would be well served to get whatever chassis you can get the best price on regardless of color and then have the entire stock, barreled action, mounts/rings, optics, etc. coated to the color you want.

There are some folks here on the Hide who are hell on Duracoat, cerakote, and multiple other coatings that will give you what you are looking for at a good price.

It is most definitely a "field rifle stock". Designed from the ground up to be that way. That said, liking them (or not) is also most definitely a matter of opinion. Some don't like the weight, some don't like the thumbhole. I really like them.

Personally, I don't care for the shade of green on their "green" stock. No worries, just take the skins off and shoot them with Krylon and you can make them just about any color you want.

Try to get behind one to be sure you like it before buying regardless of the deal you might find. Otherwise, you might end up selling it.

Re: AICS stock

Not to intrude on someone else's post. Hope you don't mind. But what is the approx weight on these stocks. I sent and email to AI and they never responded. Thanks.

Re: AICS stock

I have an AICS stock in green. I bought mine from Mile High Shooting. I don't think Adam Bauer is selling AICS stocks any longer. Mile High will also give you a discount for being a member on Snipers Hide.

I believe I paid $735.00 for my chassis system.

Mile High were very good people to deal with! I also bought AI and AW mags from them as well as an Atlas Bi-pod.

Re: AICS stock

Whats the best finish? Ive used the Krylon fusion on many of my stuff. I used flat black on my AR30, but kinda looks like charcole in a way..theres a shop close to me that does teflone coating and paint? Whats that actually?
