Aics style mag

Depends on what action and chassis you're running. I tried Magpul in my KRG X-Ray, which houses a Tikka T3. You have to shave so much material from the feed lips to get them to work that it just isn't worth it.

I've since switched to AICS and Accurate and haven't had any issues.

Seems to be a lot of variation. I and many others have better results with Magpul than with AI, for example. Search even this forum and you'll see the random array of gripes.

Some is QA, some is random tolerance variation, but I suspect some is differences in actions, chassis. Share that and those with a similar config to yours can share their specific stories.

(Me: 700 SA, with Badger DBM and with XLR Element chassis)

The following is posted on the product description of every KRG chassis that is inletted for Tikka rifles:
*The Tikka inlet accepts T3, T3x, and CTR versions (basically all short action caliber T3 variants). Tikka rifles accept AICS pattern mags with the exception of the Magpul AICS polymer mags.

Forewarned is forearmed.

In my experience, AI and Accurate Mag are the best. ARC are nice if they feed reliably (still better than Magpul), and MDT polymer are good too albeit the short COAL. Magpul jammed often enough that I got rid of mine. Everyone I shoot with has had major feed issues with Magpul, doesn't matter whether it's 6 Dasher, 6.5 Creedmoor, 308, or 6x47. Also tried in a Defiance with Manners mini chassis, Ruger RPR, Remington 700 with PTG bottom metal, or Bergara LRP.

Magpul seemed to run fine in my 308 with a Mdt lss. I only cycled a mag or two through but it worked. I am hoping to use them on an APA rtg bottom metal when the stock comes in. They fit a bit sloppy in it and AI mags fit like a glove.

Running magpul AICS in my Howa 1500, 308 in a bravo chassis. No issues with the 5 round, 10 round functions but not smoothly, but I think it is a bad mag (follower does not move smoothly) and not because of the design. Goung to take it apart and see whats up.

The two Magpul 10 rounders I have work just fine in my Howa 1500/KRG 180-Xray. That's even with the front of the mag jammed against a barricade.

Maybe KRG knows something other chassis makers don't.

Of the two metal brands I've tried (Alpha Ind. and MDT) Alpha is excellent and MDT was unsat.

I had a mag malf with a 10 round magpul aics in my RPR on a prone stage at a match- no pressure in any dimension on the mag. I haven't used them since- the 10 round 308 pmags work great with factory ammo. But, I can't seem to get myself to spring for the AI mags- I have 2 5-rounders that work but are not life-changing. Compared to the pmag follower, the ai followers are super tippy and seem like an afterthought. Anti-tilt they are not.
