I'm looking at putting an Aimpoint H-1 on my SBR. Do I need an aftermarket mount to get them to align? Or, are they even compatible with each other? Would I be better off with an M3 which while (~) the same cost is heavier?

TIA,
Sid

I run a T-1 and Aimpoint 3X. Both are in Larue mounts, the T-1 is in a lower third mount and the 3X is in the flip mount. They align well and work great.

If I remember right, they don't line up just right, but the set up is usuable. My only advise is that if you've never shot with a magnifier before, you should try to check it out before you drop the money on the magnifier and mount. I hated it and I'm not alone in this.

If you NEED the magnification, you may be better off with a good 1-4X.

The alignment isn't perfect as it would be with the Comp models but it works well and there is no POI shift or loss of FOV as a result of the alignment.
