Looking through my new Aimpoint CompM4, the sector above a line from about 8:00 to 1:00 has a red tint and this line forming the sector edge is noticeably red. It appears that light from the dot is being reflected inside the unit since the line moves whenever the dot is moved.

In daylight, this interfering light is annoying. A more serious concern is that it might degrade the use of night vision devices.

Is this normal? Have others with Aimpoints experienced this?

Re: Aimpoint CompM4 Internal Reflections

At what power settings?
My Comp ML3 does the same, depending on ambient light and power setting.
At max its clearly visible in daylight indoors.
Never really use the highest power settings, so this is observed during testing only. At lower settings that I normally use, no issues.
2MOA dot so I like keeping power lower to take advantage of the small dot, with higher/highest settings the dot tend to "float out" and become larger covering more of the target.

No experience with this one and NV though, as it doesnt have NV settings.
