Rifle Scopes Aimpoint Micro T1 and EOTech EXPS3-0

Re: Aimpoint Micro T1 and EOTech EXPS3-0

I own three different T1s and one XPS3 and an Eotech 517. Having used all of them extensively, the only thing i like about the T1 is their battery life. That is about it. The 4MOA dot of the T1 is not very crisp during low light shooting. This is a very well known. I have 20/20 vision and have no astigmatism and during low light the 4moa dot looks more like a "/" which at 50 yards it will cover a 10-12" area of the target. But i love the fact that you can leave them on for ~5yrs etc.

The XPS3 has been great so far. The circle and 1MOA dot is much faster for me for target acquisition and the 1moa dot allows me to get much better shots at longer distances and does not give me the cluster/forward slash appearance that the T1 gives off. This is not a defect since all three of them purchased at different times exhibit the same issue. The response from Aimpoint is check your vision which is a BS cop out reason since i have no vision problems.

So not sure if this answers your question but if Eotech had the battery hour of the T1 i would not even think about the T1. So for now i am keeping all of them.

Re: Aimpoint Micro T1 and EOTech EXPS3-0

I have had Eotechs for years, but switched last year to T1's and an ML3. I like the Aimpoints for the battery life, but prefer Eotech's recticle much more. I will prob try one of the new smaller Eotechs soon though. At 50 yards I can make headshots pretty easily with the T1, but agree with alpha that if the Eotech had the battery life of the T1, I wouldn't own a T1.
