So I am looking for a new optic for my AR-15 I have had an EoTech and wanted to try something new. I am currently looking at Aimpoint specifically either a CompM4s or the Micro T-1. From what I can tell the only major differences are in the battery life and the weight/size. I am just looking for opinions ideally from people that have used both.

The T1 is a more practical and more efficient optic, smaller, lighter and fov beats out the M4.

I have kinda been leaning this way as well I just wanted to make sure I wasnt missing something. I do like the ability to use AA batteries on the m4 but I guess I can just get a good supply of batteries for the T1 and be set as they last 5 years anyways.

I'm rocking an aimpoint pro on my carbine. IMO, one of the best bang for your buck red dots on the market for under $400. I also used eotech's in the past for red dots, but I've moved away from eotechs to aimpoint (much less busy and like having caps). Comes with mount and caps also with the PRO!!!... Should be able to find one for about $400.. I got mine for $375 after promo code and free shipping from midway. As of right now, I would jump on any new PRO for under $400. You just can't go wrong:

I did look at the pro for a while but in finally decided if I was going to go the aimpoint route I might as well get a decent one I made the mistake of buying the lowest end Eotech when I had one of those and often wished I had spent more later. I think the T-1 is the route I will go just because I like the light slim design hopefully the local gun shop has one I can play with before I order it.

How can FOV of T1 beat out M4 if it has a smaller diameter? You can also consider H1 - similar to T1, except no NV settings.

I have both the CompM4 and the Micro T-1. Both are great optics for their intended use. I prefer the T-1 because of the smaller size and balance. Used them on AR15's and LMT MWS as well as AUG's.

For some people the red dot is a little fuzzy or elongated (often due astigmatism) but you can minimize this. No problems at all with these sights. Aimpoints are on most of my go to short range [read under 300 yards] rifles. The last few Aimpoints I've bought have been T1s and H1s.

T1 w qd mount. I bought one from Larue and it had a very odd looking dot I sent it back while they sent me
A new one and it was much more clear. I've had it for a few years and really like it. It seems to me that for a red dot optic smaller and lighter the better. I can shoot 200 yards with it very very easily, 400 yards becomes a bit more challenging. I believe it to be a very good red dot all in all.

I am running a CompM3 2mil dot for the last 5 years on my M4. Lots of rounds down range indoor and outside. My A.R.M.S 40L SP BUIS works great as a back up or as a "sanity check" since both are coincident, i run with the 40l erected most all of the time. I have run the Eotech on the "simms" at www.virtra.com and hated the Eotech due to the over pronounced parallax. For me the Aimpoint does not suffer this issue.

The CompM3 also has the frist 4 settings for running NVGs which can be worn or rail mounted behind the CompM3

I also have both, though my T1 has the larger dot. Both are great, though I do use the T1 more.
