Rifle Scopes AIMPOINT PRO?

Does anyone have the Aimpoint PRO? What are the pros & cons to it? Seems like a good deal for around $400 seeing as how most of their scopes are $500+..
Also, the spacer that is in the mount of scope. Can it be removed to make the scope sit lower to the rifle? How does this puppy do with co-witness?

Spacer can be removed for use on subs and shotties.

Absolute co-witness on my dd.

If you do remove the spacer, are you still able to use the iron sites?
