I have some Alpha brass in 6.5 Creedmoor LRP, and a bit of Reloader 26, and it strikes me that I should try that combination. I've tried other H4350 with a 130gr bullet and didn't get impressive results, but I hear RL26 likes a heavier bullet and I have some 140s. I'd try some Hornady A-Tip if it seems promising, but this is what I've got on hand.

The Alpha brass has less internal capacity than most other brass. Has anyone tried Alpha brass with Reloader 26? Can anyone give me a starting point?

I know the RL26 is the new golden boy of the block, but it's good with heavy
for caliber bullets. (147-150) Your 130 is not. Would try RL16 first. I'm sure you'll try
the RL26 but don't think you'll get where you want to be, unless you have a 28+ barrel.
What kind of speeds you looking for?

I already have good loads for 130gr bullets and RL16. And I've tried the RL26 in a 6x47L with 115 DTAC with outstanding results. I'd like to see what's possible with 6.5 Creedmoor and I have some Alpha brass sitting here collecting dust because I can't figure out loads for it with its reduced case capacity.

I hear you with the heavy-for-caliber bullets, the 6x47L test sure proved that out. Perhaps I'll pick up a box of 147 ELD-M or 153gr A-Tip tomorrow, just so I don't waste my time on the 140.

Still, any starting loads with RL26 and Alpha brass would be helpful.

Maybe the A-Tip was a bad idea. Loading to maximum mag length requires a .052" jump, and my barrel did not seem impressed by this bullet/powder/brass combo.
