Exactly...

If you reciever is heating up that bad you have bigger problems then you think....

The alum one will work just fine. There is no reason to use anything else. I would recomend the seekins bases made out of 7075. Its tough as steel.

Re: Aluminum, stainless steel or steel bases

For years wood was the state of the art when it came to stocks but it was found that they expand and contract with the temperature and humidity and will change your point of impact so now synthetic stocks are the norm because they are more stable. The rise and fall of temperature of your steel receiver and base will contract and expand at close to the same rate witch is a more stable platform for your optics.7075 aluminum is a awesome alloy but will have a different coefficient of expansion than 4140 cm or 416 ss both standard steels for the production of bolt guns I use heat treated bases and rings for all of the long range rifles I have built with excelent results.Either will work well if installed corectly. Good Shooting Pat

Buy quality and you will be fine whether it's a steel Badger base or an aluminum Seekins base. I have used both and never noticed any differences.
