I just bought my wife an Ambush V7 and it came with an 18" 1and7 twist barrel. I swapped the barrel fro a 16" for weight and, I thought what a perfect way for me to start another Mk12 build as I now have an extra barrel. My ? is…..where does Ambush get there barrels from and what kind of quality are they?

Ambush Firearms is owned by Daniel Defense. The barrels for both are made in-house by DD, and are quality barrels.
They are Daniel Defense through and through. That's true for ALL things Ambush. The company addy is the same place. 
Generally, the last 18" tube I saw from them was identical to the DD S2W barrel which is a decent enough shooter, but you aren't going to get SPR-levels of accuracy with it (at least in my experience with them) even with match ammo...MOA is about as good as it gets with a good shooter and ammo. Also, they are mid-length gas systems which may present problems if you really want a true "Mk12" type build since they use rifle-length gas systems.

Marty Daniel/ Daniel Defense. Awesome barrels, from their .556 to their 6.8 they are all awesome barrels. I have 2 Ambush's and took my furthest 6.8 shot this yr on a big bodied spike at 502yds. 85gr TSX has done the job at 411/426 and 502yds from the black Ambush. If you like the shotgun forearm great, but if not, it comes right off for a nice FF tube. Love the S2W profile.
