I see they make a scout mount for a little less than the 2 lever mount. Is this just as secure or should I go with the 2 lever? It will be used for a 1-4 range scope.

Well I have a GG&G QD mount with one lever on a .308 and a NF 56mm and it holds everything solidly in place. Go with the single if it's less expensive. I looked at the American Defense mounts and I think the only reason why I didn't go that way was because of price. Those are bad ass mounts though so I am sure either one will be great.

My wife have the single lever model on her carbine. It works fine. I have a couple of the double lever models, but would not hesitate to get the single if I needed another mount.

I wouldn't opt for the single lever as the dual lever design will secure it better.

I have used both and currently run two of the scouts
They both work
The 2 lever mount would be the better choice I you were being deployed just for the sake of redundancy.
