Just ordered one from them, want to see if it is a better mount than Larue's.

Same price basically, like the feature of 3 fasteners on ring tops. I've got two SN-4s, will see side by side on two SR-15s.

They look gtg.

Any other .223 AR mounts come to mind? The Larue is o.k., just want to try something different.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

I recently purchased an ADM Recon mount (20moa version) from Scott at Liberty Optics. Great dealer by the way. The overall quality of the mount is great, but I would change a few things. First, the little springs that push the locking levers away from the main body are cheap and prone to falling out and getting lost. I would replace these with some sort of captured flat spring. Second, I would rotate the rings halves and screws 90 degrees, so gravity would be on you side when mounting a scope. Because the ring halfs they are mounted vertical its hard keep your scope level, hold the ring half and tighten the screws all at the same time. Third, I would add a second recoil lug to the bottom of the mount. Just my two cents.

I didn't go with a Larue mount because they don't make a cantilever style mount with 20moa of cant. They do however make a 10moa cantilver (LT158) and 20moa non-cantilver (LT112). When I asked why not a 20moa catilever I was told "we just don't". Alrighty then, ADM it is.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

I use a Bobro mount for my Aimpoint and it holds zero after taking it off hundreds of times. The locking system is very easy to use and is self adjusting no matter what receiver it's on (as long as it's close to proper spec).

I got an ADM Recon a month ago and although adjusting is easier than a LaRue, I find that it's either a little too loose to my liking and almost too tight. At least with a LaRue you can adjust very little at a time. I prefer the Bobro over the two.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

I have to agree once I got turned onto Bobro it hard to go to any other mount although I do like that ADM makes a 20 MOA mount.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

I have a ADM recon 20 moa myself and I really like it. I havent experienced the little springs falling out, maybe contact ADM? I thought the same thing about the adjustment being too loose or too tight when I first got it but you have to remember that it has a lot more clamping surface then a LaRue (I have a LT104 also) so it doesnt need to be as tight. As for the vertical rings, its the same basic setup as the LaRue also and I like them. I have taken my ADM on and off I dont know how many times and it has always returned to zero just as good as my LaRue. Another BIG plus, I just ordered a Vortex Razor to replace the 30mm scope in the mount and ADM does make 35mm replacement rings which were only $50.

I havent tried a Bobro yet but they do look nice.

I was actually going to get a nightforce uni-mount 20MOA when I found the ADM, they are not QD and a little more expensive but they are suppose to have amazing RTZ for a cross bolt setup and come in different heights.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

I take back what I said about the second recoil lug. I got confused with a different mount. I just looked at my ADM again the the cross bolts for the locking levers act as the recoil lugs. My mistake.

If you wanted to see if it were better than Larue all you would have to do is buy anything other than larue or ARMS both not the greatest. ADM is a great mount, Bobro is also great.

Re: American Defense Recon-X Mount

Zero issues with mine, I love it.
