Ammo deal Lake City XM118

It’s XM118LR... which is absolute dog shit and worth less than the packaging it comes in. If you’re looking for cheap 100yd plinking ammo, then go for it. Otherwise, spend the extra $20 and get FGMM.

My previous shit company bought that dogshit xm118lr in order to save money and not buy actual quality ammo... resulted in six different 7.62 systems (3x M24’s and 3x SR-25’s) grouping fine at 100 but being so fucking inconsistent from 200-800yds. We’re talking 6” and 8” fliers at 200yds and keyholing (destabilizing and slapping sideways) at 300yds....let alone randomly off target or on the edge of a 6’x6’ target backer at 600yds.

Fucking avoid that shit like the plague and buy quality ammo. 175gr FGMM (GM308M2 & GM762M2 variants) can be found for .80-1.00 per round so go that route instead.

Companies keep pushing this garbage as actual bulk loose brown boxed M118LR, which it isn’t and why in the item spec section it states XM118LR. It’s the lots that get pulled because they don’t meet the standard. It’s then boxed and labeled as surplus or mil run off. ...or worse, they white box it and inside one new/sealed case, you’ll have a box of 20rds that has 5 different LC stamps. Then fucking procurement people who don’t know shit about shit order it because it has some of the same letters in the designation as what’s required by the client and outlined in the contract.

If you can’t rely on your rounds to be consistent, then you’re wasting your time behind the glass. By purchasing this kind of inconsistent trash, you’ll never know for sure if your miss was due to you or a shit load.

Just my .2 mils worth of opinion based on previous experiences with it.

I hadnt heard that. Good to know.

I New as "X" it was not accepted ammo but I thought the X had something to do with either start or end of production run and otherwise was same ammo.

Yea dude, it is nothing more than rejected non-spec ammo and, depending on what bulk batch you get, floor sweepings across a five (in our case) year spread.

Unless it comes in the small 20rd brown boxes with M118LR stamped on the side, or if you snag it from a dude who kept a can or two from a day at the range with his unit, it isn’t M118LR.

It will do fine at 100yds if you’re looking to plink and want that specific LC brass, but it isn’t cheap enough to warrant buying over FGMM.
