I just picked up a POF 308 and it will have a NF 3.5x15 scope on it. I have a Burris FastFireII red dot that i like to use as a close range optic. The only option i have found is the TNVC mount which goes for $80 a little pricey. Are there anybody else that have similar setup for less? Here is a picture of what i am talking about.

If your POF has a railed forearm, you might look at the Daniel Defense 1 o'clock offset mount which is about $40.

With the DD rail, you just tilt the rifle rather than having to tilt the rifle and pop your head up. It mounts the red dot about the same height as the scope.

That setup looks actually good. My only concern is how much further to the right does the red dot sit compared to the TNVC ring where the red dot is closer to the center? What range do you have your T1 zeroed at and how much shift do you get from 0-75 yards for example?

If you do not have a railed forearm you can get a Yankee Hill Machine 45 degree mount for your flattop that hold the reddot perfect. Sent mine to my Son in iraq for use with dot/acog combo. Tough enough to survive 16 months in and out of vehicles.

When I shoot with the 1 o'clock offset mount, I rotate the whole rifle 30 degrees to the left (no change in head position, cheek weld, or hand location) so that the sight is vertical above the bore. Then I shoot it and sight it in just like normal. It is fast and easy.

I zero it at 100 yards and then it's between an inch low and dead on from 30 yards to 150 yards.

I agree with sobrbiker883 that the Burkett mount is the best. The key is not to have to shift your cheek weld, just the rifle. If you are moving your head you are wasting alot of time.
