What's so great about XLR stocks? Seriously asking, they just don't look comfortable. Handled the stock by itself once and didn't see the draw of it.

They are not lighter than a MCM or MCS, but lighter than some chassis, but what is the appeal of them?

XLR's are very comfortable to me. I've loved my elements and love even more my evolutions.

Very comfortable for me. I can lay behind them all day and it feels natural. Very well built and in my opinion has some serious sex appeal. Very reliable, never had an issue with mine and the customer service is outstanding. To each his own and that this the great thing about this market. Lots of companies making awesome products for whatever your flavor is.

I don't have any XLRs (I have a couple of AI AXs) but I'm in central AL. Where are you, somewhere around Selma?
